Philosophy of Education

o   Flaiz Adventist College by virtue of being an Adventist church institution recognizes that God the creator and sustainer of the earth and the entire Universe, is the source of Knowledge and wisdom.

o   The institution believes that God through divine revelation and inspiration has communicated through the Holy Scriptures and the gifts of prophecy, which constitute its unique Philosophy.

o   Flaiz Adventist College believes that every faculty and staff member is a representative of God and every student a child of God. It is the endeavor of the institution to appoint individuals who are committed to nurturing spiritual, academic, physical and social environment, where the students of the college would acquire knowledge, values ideals that are Christ-centric.

o   The institution will take every initiative to provide wholistic education, which will enhance the character of all Adventist and Non-Adventist Students, and community in and around Flaiz Adventist College.

o   To summarize, Flaiz Adventist College desires through its educational programs to help prepare the youth for effective citizenship on this earth and a rewarding citizenship in the new earth.

Objectives

Academic  

o   To enable students to excel in knowledge and understanding in the common branches of learning.

o   To promote facilities for research, investigation, and inquiry in all fields of knowledge.

o   To guide them to be critical thinkers, analyzers and in testing of ideas and creativity.

o   To assist students in developing their individual capacity to think and to encounter the problems of life, and to prepare them to become masters and not slaves of circumstances, possessing a breadth of mind, clearness of thought, and commitment to their convictions.

o   To assure a systematic development of the whole person, including one’s capabilities and character through instruction, study and activity involving acquisition of knowledge and skills.

o   Flaiz Adventist College strives to offer academically sound, undergraduate programs to Seventh-day Adventists and other students from nearby communities who welcome the opportunity to study in an Adventist environment.

o   To nurture and maintain a competitive and spiritual environment that would continuously stroke the academic and spiritual fires of the students and drive them to higher planes in both these realms.

o   To create an atmosphere of mutual respect and love between the students and faculty and aim at creating a vast and harmonious college family.

o   To continuously seek, hire and sustain faculty that is committed to the message of salvation as believed by the Seventh Day Adventist church and committed to excellence in the Secular subjects that the students seek to learn.

o   To employ faculty that is consistent with the Church message, beliefs, and values and uphold the teachings and the principles of the Church.

o   We will respect the property of our organizations, including any intellectual property that is developed in the course of our employment. We will use the property, facilities, and resources solely for the benefit of our organization, unless otherwise permitted or when financial compensation for such use has been arranged.

 

Spiritual

o   To restore in students the image of God, to bring about their submission to the divine will and grace and to form in them true Christian growth in the knowledge of God and in personal fellowship with Him.

o   To nurture spiritual sensitivity and awareness.

o   To preach and encourage internalization of Christian principles and practice as endorsed by the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

o   To integrate worship, faith and participation with learning.

o   To acquaint students with the Author of all truth, who provides an integrated structure for achieving synthesis of knowledge in all disciplines.

 

Social

o   To teach the fundamental Christian principles, which stresses on love. “You shall love your neighbour as yourself”. (Matthew 22:39).

o   To develop a Christian character motivated by love and controlled by steadfast principles, thus preparing the individual for self-government and self-discipline.

o   To achieve an awareness among students of their culture & heritage of the current human situation, of the crucial problems within contemporary society, and to develop a concern for finding their solutions.

o   To acknowledge individual self-worth without fostering inordinate pride.

o   To promote personal involvement in establishing satisfactory relationship with others and appropriate personal involvement in the transformation of circumstances that would otherwise generate war, tyranny, racial discrimination, etc.

o   To teach good citizenship as a moral obligation as well as a patriotic duty.
